Need a new set of chain and sprockets for the 520.
I'm a right in thinking steel sprockets will last longer than alloy I'm not bothered about weight just what ones which will last.
Is there any difference between iris o-ring chains and renthal ones?

Cheapest I can find is £68.50 inc post for rino 14/49 sprockets and o-ring chain not sure what kind though.

Forry I bought an expensive brand steel sprocket for the rear and it only lasted 4,000 miles. The OE Suzuki one has done 12,000 and has little signs of wear. It depends on the steel used. I'd pay a little extra, if any, and buy the replacement KTM brand set (although the KTM is probably alloy).

My expensive DID O-ring chain has lasted 8,000k, which on a low powered bike is crap IMHO.

Renthal Alu ones don't last too long, I got about 4k out of one. It depends on the Alloy used.

Decent hardened alloy sprockets wear as well as steel.
With a KTM 520 I would consider checking if Talon or someone does them in 525 rather than 520 the chain and sprockets will last much longer.

I can't help you with the sprockets, but I can offer a new 120-link 520 sized chain for £9.99 plus postage (or collection).

They can be cut to size with either a chain splitter or an angle grinder.

I'll shortly have 120-link 520 O-ring nickel plated chains which I hope to punt out at just £29.99 a pop plus postage.

PM me if interested.
