Hopefully this post is in the correct section.
What I'm after is advice on which repair manual/cd to purchase as I intend to do some service items myself. I have never really been a fan of Haines manuals but have not seen anything else for the 1200 as yet.
Any advice greatly received.

Chris

Nero

The RePROM is also available on a lot of torrent sites. £50+ is taking the piss

i need some help here....I have downloaded a copy of this manual and burned into a DVD disc. So am i supposed to install some software before i can use it or i just need to click on the main file to launch the software?

I burned using nero as instructed in the readme file. It did not mention anything else... anyone?

Cheers!

My genuine CD self loads when i put in in the drive.. click & tick all the legal stuff and this takes you to the select model page,

Lend the CD a colleague some weeks back & he had to go into my computer & start the program running from there... when this was done it fired up in the normal way.

It depends if the file you downloaded will extract itself into a readable format before you burn it, or if it needs and aftermarket (Nero?) program to compile it into something readable before burning eg changing an .ISO file into an executable and autorun file for use straight off the disk once burned.

Did you follow the instructions when burning with Nero to do the conversion (eg from .ISO to something else), or did you just make a back up of some downloaded unreadable computer code (such as the original .ISO file?) ??

Thank you Pukmeister for your reply....

The file that was downloaded is in .nrg format. Is the file supposed to be in ISO format originally? So how do i convert it to .exe format? Using Nero?

i am not an computer geek...:(

I finally managed to open the file using Daemon Tools. Question is, the file is installed in my labtop. But i would like it carry around with me(DVD or Thumbdrive) such that it could run on its own whenever i plug into any computer? Could any kind soul advice the procedure of doing it?

Cheers!

if its a .nrg file its already in nero image format, you dont need to do anything else.

open nero burning rom - close all that other shit that starts up such as "start smart" and any other windows that open, ALL you want is the main basic burning rom window.

put blank dvd in the recorder, go to "recorder" select "burn image" find the reprom .nrg file, select open and then burn it on the slowest speed

done. :thumb

to open it afterwards and use the disc just click on the drive.

if you do not have nero, then find it at the same place you downloaded the manual from!

i managed to figure that out from Daemon Tool... this software can be quite a handful when it comes to what each function does and person who is new to this software may find this a roadblock.

10 mins on flea bay and a RepROM disk for £3 delivered. Very good I might add. Many thanks for all the advice
