Hi all, need a bmw repairer near home, got knocked off on monday and need to get a estimate to repair it for the insurance, will involve some painting so needs to be a proper body shop, any one know of one? will be going through insurance so needs to approved etc.

thanks
Neil (arm in sling and lots of pain)

Neil,

sorry to hear the news, hope your not in too much pain.

Only ones I know of in the area are Prestiege, SLM or Not BMW but have an ex BMW mech in the Workshop 21st Moto (Whitehouse) at Swanley.

Failing that I am poping down to Brian Gile's at Tunbridge tomorrow, could pose the question of if he does repairs if you want ?

For body repairs there is always a Bikemedic type person around somewhere.

Also as I'm local'ish drop me a PM if I can be of any help.

The wife's now getting quite good at pushing bikes around garages. :D

Glenn,

Thanks for the response, went to prestige but they are not interested as usual, been hearing the same thing from them for the last 8 months!

Looks like it will have to be Park Lane BMW as it needs to be a BMW approved and they are the nearest one! oh well.

as for pain its not to bad, got a crack in my collarbone, a disclocated shoulder and a couple of ripped muscles/tendons.

Hi Neil

Sorry to hear of your accident. If you are the undistputed victim of this accident and you are claiming off the car drivers insurance - then you do not have to accept any crap insurance offer! :nono

If they try to fob you off with an uneconomic repair write-off offer then tell them to get stuffed. As the innocent party you can insist that your property is put back into the 'same' condition prior to their numpty driver nobbling you! :spitfire Or you can offer to accept a similar bike as a replacement - provide a couple of mint expensive examples or the next model up if none available

Also, you can up the anty by saying you will be hiring a similar bike while they think about it as you need your transport - they will get the bill for this of course. Just make sure you speak to a manager of the insurance company right from the start and let him know that you know your rights and you will be running up a big bill for them to pay if they try to screw you. :thumb

Also, if you have any aches or pains then get round to your doctor's ASAP to get it officially documented & added to your claim.

Hope this helps

Ed
