replacement wire element for heated grips?

My 05 1200 (50,000mls) R/H grip element is busted in 2 places first place worn second place whilst cutting grip off throtle sleeve. The element is a conventional wire rapped around the sleeve in a spiral fashion of about 0.3mm diameter unlike the circuit board type seen elswhere on the forum.My question is does anyone now what spec this wire is? Is it available somewhere?

I fixed mine by soldering in a piece of household fuse wire. That was 5000mile ago. Fitted new Renthal grip

I used speaker wire on my 1150,worked a treat.

unwind one coil and twist the broken ends together. worked for me !

i used a piece of guitar string of similar thickness. wound it for a short distance (1/2 inch?) between the two broken ends of the original.
This was on an Airhead though.

Failed to find any wire to do a complete replacement, so soldered a repair. Be good to find a source for proper wire though.
