replacing a denso alternator with a bosch one

hi all, i seem to remember seeing a couple of threads about this,but having searched i cant see whether any one actually did it.
i think VAL H was considering going down this route but reading his two threads on the subject i am non the wiser.
i will have a look on advrider tonight but i really cant be arsed reading pages of drivel posted by idiot yanks
IIRC its just the wiring multiplug that needs replacing but could do with confirmation from someone who has done it before i order an alternator.
