In the efforts to restore my 1100 to its former glory, I am about to replace one of the front indicator stems.

The piece I'm replacing is the 'middle' bit, the rubber section with a spigot on each end.

It's not at all obvious how to strip the old parts. I can see how the lens section comes away, but it seems very hard to access the area where it fastens to the headlight/mudguard cowling.

Please, has anyone done this?

Headlight case/housing off, flat plate underneth it off, then you can access the nuts that hold the stems in place

I removed the screen, then the silver trims and some bolts either side and a central one under the headlight, the shorter stems from metal mule tuck the indicators in nicely.

Well timed question! - I hit a pheasant and wiped out one of my front indicators last week. I've just received the new stem and had the same 'how do I get to it' thoughts as you :thumb
