I'm not that great with pc etc and am having probs resizing a photo in order to upload it to a forum to illustrate an article of interest.
I took it with a 2mp camera, use windows xp and its on my pc in my pictures.
How do i resize it to upload?

I use Windows Paint and re-size to around 30% of original size and it works every time.

Windows Paint should be std on your PC

Hope this helps

Download this little prog, its done by microsoft and work well. When its installed right click any image and select resize pictures, the popup box will then ask you what size, small, medium (good for most forums) or large. It does not effect your original image in anyway.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

Dead easy and very quick.

+1 on the MS power toys tip (my preferred method)
if you use Vista you will need the power toys equivelent : VSO resizer (google it)

another way is

right click on the picture and select 'mail recipient'
this will open a dialogue box.
select make pics smaller.
this will then open the e-mail box, your picture will be on the attachment line.
DRAG the picture onto the desktop.
close the email interface
picture is now on the desktop ready to save / use elsewhere.

just done the above and reduced a pic from 928kb to 32kb in a couple of clicks.... not checked the size on the forum, but would imagine it too be OK

:D

and here it is....
using the email method thing

Just right i'd say
