After talking to Phil about various routes - he informed me that he was stopped tuther week on a trail I have ridden for last 20 maybe 25 years. So I went and gave it a looking at " signs and all "
the council have made the lovely lane which is at the top of the gravel road opposite Bramley lane ( from Bubnell ) a Resticted byway. When you have climbed to the top o the hill ( this is still a road ) you should now turn left to Rowland - Or turn right back down to the Calver road
Not over the track at the side of the quarry to Moor road ( Longstone edge )
I have just been on the phone to Philip Berry Derbyshire county council to confirm a few lanes - He did say that an aplication to have it upgraded to a BOAT was in place - He also said police were interested at the "racing of bikes" which it seems has been going on at evenings and weekends
Load of Bo****X to me I have never seen any races up there - not one race in 20 years
More resticed byways here
www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-after/vehicles/restricted-byways.htm

He also gave me a local " interested" Police officers name an Phone number - I will see if he wants a day out trailing - Hope he has a driving licence

Hope he is a good lad really :thumb2

more later I hope:clap

I come up to Chesterfield and the Peak quite often to see my parents but these last few years have avoided lanes as I was always in doubt as to what was legal and things must be worsening due to the recent wet weather, is there a list of currently legal lanes in the area?

There is not ( or at least I dont know of ) a list of lanes
There is some sites where you can check them out
there is a Definitive map of derbyshire on the web = small silly scale etc.
then there's the up to date maps etc.
I know loads
I am checkin um out as I have time but I dont/didnt do some cos they have always been " legal" - matbe not
Must do more reference

I am going to be putting a run together for big bikes in Staff's and the Peaks shortly. I have some byways marked up from last time I did this area, but if you can point me in the direction of any others, orpa's etc. that may be good, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

John
