Hi,

A friend, bike test recently passed but still restricted (to 37kw?) is looking for a XCountry. Is it possible to have one restricted at a dealer, then de-restricted later, and are any changes required to the log book?

Thanks in advance,

Ian.

I quote ....

"You buy the restricter kit for the throttle cable. There isn't a printed certificate but the cable bracket that bolts to the throttle body has the kW rating stamped on it. Throttle cable gets moved on other track on throttle valve pully"

Wasn't sure if it is done electronically, hooked up to the computer, or as above.

Now we know :thumb

Thanks Micky.

I just called my local dealer and they said a restrictor kit wasn't listed for the X :nenau

I'm sure it was an option when they were new - maybe factory fitted only.

I will persist.

Then check with another dealer ... one that's interested ;)

My info came from a dealer, but I'll check with them tomorrow for ya ... don't go away :D

Thanks Micky :thumby:

Just about to check the parts catalogue as well.

Part number 13 54 7 686 369

Only a small bracket, no certificate required, the receipt plus the label on the bracket sufficient.

Plenty in stock with BMW :thumb

£6.56 plus maybe a couple of quid for a couple of bolts :D

Sorted ...

:beerjug:

PS ... if you have any problems then give Martin or Tony a ring at Rainbow Motorcycles :thumb

Thanks again Micky :thumby: and for the contact. Sorted indeed. Now have to find a decent XCo.....

On another note a nice big package from Hot Rod is in the post for my XCh so Xmas a bit early :D

BTW I couldn't access the online parts catalogue but that's maybe a new browser I'm using.

Thanks from me as well - I was wondering if I could restrict mine for my son to ride (if the lazy fecker ever gets around to passing his test  )
