Hi

Anyone tried fitting the adventure r suspension to the standard adventure. Ive got a 2011 adventure dakar, it has the same engine as te adventure r, so i fancy getting the longer travel suspension.

You can get the kit.
http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-950-990-non-abs-adventure-r-spec-suspension-kit

However it says only for use with non abs bikes.

"If you own one of the NON-ABS model 950/990 Adventures and want that R Spec Suspension then this kit is for you. It will raise your standard suspension by 55mm so you can take on even the meanest of obstacles. This kit unfortunately was built for NON-ABS Equipped Adventures. I'm sure some guru like Craig from CJ Designs will come up with a kit to remove or disable your ABS but we will have to wait and see."

Anyone ave any idea why this is ? Cant see the connection between suspension and abs.

If it's any help I swapped my rear shock from my 2004 950 ADV 'S' (non ABS) with a 2008 990 Standard ADV (ABS fitted) as I'm only a shortie and had the option while my bike was in bits.

The shocks only differed in length by about 10mm but with the triangulation of the swingarm etc made about 40mm difference in ride height

It was a simple unbolt, bolt up job.

I dropped my forks through the yokes by about 10 mm to even things up a bit.

I'm subsequently arranging to swap side and centre stands with the same guy now!
