Hi All

After smashing my hand up in Feb this year, the bike (r1150gs 2002) has been in the garage keeping warm. Finally felt strong enough to try and ride it.
Went to take it for an MOT today, and the rev counter sticks at 4.5k, even tho the bike runs smoothly above that, and it works correctly as long as the revs stay below 4.5k

Not got a clue what to look for, any ideas?

Cheers

This used to happen on my L1100LT when hot as the face warped in the heat, only happened in summer. Maybe?

Thanks for the hint, but its not that, fairly sure the cover is flat and its been in a cool garage for the past six months

Where or what feeds the rev counter ??......I would guess ecu so would think its the head thats at fault.

I'll have a nose round and see what I can find

Hoping it's nothing too serious tho

Cheers for the advice

Im sure I'm gonna get some stick for this response, but when it sticks have you tried just tapping the glass? Does it make a difference or not?? i had this happen on an old yamaha and i solved it by getting hold of a small round sucker thing and pulling the glass up quite hard, but not hard enough to break it..

Sorry If this doesnt help you at all, but no harm in trying huh...

tried that one mate, beginning to think its a signal issue.
Waiting for enough strength in my hand and i'll check the connection blocks out, was hoping it may have been a common issue
