OK, so armed with my GS911 and Carbtune I'm going to balance the throttle bodies for the first time. Having read the BMW manual it seems very straightforward - just a matter of balancing the two cables at each end right. So, with the idle actuators disabled, what is the optimium rev's to run the engine at to make the sync or will it make no difference?

Easy

Check for play at throttle grip end, set that first.

Run it uptp temperature.

3500-4000 is about right. That's where you tend to cruise along anyway.

Make adjustments on one side only. I do the right as I'm standing that side holding the throttle.

Probably two minutes on the adjustment is all you'll need. Watch out it doesn't get too hot mind.

Roger.

Get the engine up to temp first, the GS911 will tell you if its too cold (it seems to take ages to get hot enough). Once up to temp, stop the engine, park the idle steppers using the software, restart the engine and then balance the throttles with twinmax/carbtune etc, the balancing can be done at idle because the idle steppers are 'parked'. Blip the throttle a few times once adjusted to confirm the throttles stay balanced through the rev range.

I usually reset the idle steppers using the GS911 software once the throttle balance it done, to ensure they are reset to the same number of steps.
