Has anyone ever tried that thing where you start the bike up, preferably from warm, hold the throttle wide open until the rev limiter cuts in intermittently, and then flick the kill switch on and off in a rhythmic rave beat early of a Sunday morning?

Just wondering.

Maybe on a Jap multi - preferably done by a crazy French biker at the Bol D'Or.
But on a Boxer twin ............... no, Oh - definitely no. Not if you value your sanity and your bike's engine.

bang bang

Just get a laser pro d'or race can mine coughs and bangs all by itself :P

I tried it and it does work.....excellent...

Hey Blotto,
Got my new GS on Thursday past. Got a Remus and Y peice fitted yesterday. I got bouncing off the limiter today.(Some really good backfires and even flames!) For info, its quite awkward to do because you have to work the kill switch with your left hand. (Does anybody know if there is a switch similar to my motocross bike that could be put on the LHS of the bar so as I could hold on better whilst revving???) What I did try though was to put some oil on the floor paint in my garage and butt the front wheel against the garage wall. Talk about smoke!!!! Interestingly enough I was expecting more snatch from the shaft drive than I got. It just goes to show how well they`re made.

Well there's one bike I won't be buying secondhand:D

Yes clinger I had to reach over with my left hand too to hit the kill switch. You would think that BMW would've thought the layout of the switches through a bit better than they did. Unless your right trigger finger is 6 inches long and bent 90 degrees to the left you just cant do a burnout and hit the kill safely at the same time. I agree though, hardly any slack on the take-up at all.

There's something to be said for always buying new!
