Visited this place today in Swindon:

I've been after looking at the New Cayenne Pro Jacket and Trousers. Found the guy in the shop very helpful, rang me as promised when the stock had arrived. Good range of sizes in stock at the moment. Nice bit of kit, seems to be very good quality and a true four-seasons outfit.

Regards Bob

P.S. Also visited the George White Outlet Emporium..........despite what their adverts show as regards brands stocked........it's Frank Thomas, Frank Thomas or err Frank Thomas!

Mrs Bone has said troos, they haven't been complained about, rain or cold.

Praise indeed.

We have both had FT gear and had to return every item. Finally came to the conclusion that they manufacture fashion items. IMHO.:augie

I am having problems getting Rev'it Dakar pants from Harpers in London. They claim there is a problem getting enough Rev'it stock from manufacturers to keep up with demand. Something about import quotas from China.

I got the last XL Off Track Jacket in the store when I visited at the start of this month but am still waiting for the trousers. Expected delivery has gone from 7 April to "sometime this week" Now may be first week in May.

Seems like really good quality stuff but I am now getting a bit fed up with the delay and no real straight answers about when I might get the trousers.

Anybody know if there is a problem getting Rev'it stock or are Harpers giving me the run arround?

I suggest you give Warren a call at Motoshop on 01793 420989, always find him very good at ringing me back and letting me know what's happening.

It'll be a second opinion on what Harper's are telling you. I know there have been some supply issues however you can plead ignorance and see what Motoshop advise.

Regards Bob

Appears that Harpers are being honest re the shortage of Rev'it clothing. I spent most of this morning ringing round dealers looking for "Dakar" pants and it was the same story from them all about lack of supply. Best guess is that the latest shipment is in the docks but nobody knows when it will be released. Probably something to do with import quotas from China where the clothing is made.

I did get lucky however and tracked down a pair in my size at http://www.motorcycle-clothing.co.uk/ in Norfolk. Harpers were very good about it and let me cancel my order with them. Cash refunded right away.

Its a shame that suppliers have a good product at a reasonable price then can't get the supply side right.

Arrived via TNT this afternoon. Appear to be excellent quality with separate removable thermal lining and waterproof lining. Waterproof pockets, good knee armour and hip padding. Elasticated waist and all round zip to attach to jacket means very comfortable fit with no need for braces. With all the lining out and the vents open they will be very comfortable for the hot weather.

I don't know if they are as good as the BMW equivalent but they were £189.99 delivered as opposed to £300 for the BM kit. The usual areas where manufacturers cut corners to save costs such as zips and pockets appear to be very high quality but I have yet to wear them for an eight hour run in the rain so can't really say more than first impressions are very good.

If you want them however start ringing round the dealers listed on the rev'it site now because they are in very short supply. I got a few offers of black pairs in my size but the grey were harder to find than foreskin at a bar mitzvah

First impressions were half right. Wore the Off Track Jacket and Dakar Pants today for about 6 hours. 5 Hours were great, very comfortable on a hot humid day, easy to move in and very practical. The 6th hour was not so good. I can confirm the waterproof pockets are 100% waterproof having riden through a very heavy thunderstorm. Trouble is the rest of the waterproof suit is not so waterproof. Ended up with a wet crutch and a wet patch on one shoulder. The removable waterproof membrane is only waterproof in places. Any part where there is pressure on it seems to let the water through fairly quickly. To be fair it was very heavy rain but only for about 15 minutes. The outer cordura of the garments simply soaked up the water and I will try a waterproof textile spay on that to see if that takes some of the pressure off the inner membrane but I have no high hopes that this suit is going to be suitable for serious wet weather riding. My £200 Lewis jacket and pants do a better job of keeping the water out than the Rev'it but you sweat buckets in any warm weather and end up just as wet as if it had let the rain through. Looks like I am still going to need an oversuit for the really wet weather.

Perhaps the only way to get genuine waterproof breathable clothing is to pay the higher price for it.

I sent an email to Sue at http://www.motorcycle-clothing.co.uk/ re the damp patches and she has been in contact with the Rev'it rep. The result is that the waterproof membrane for the jacket and the pants has been sent back for replacement and a tin of the waterproofing spray is on its way for the rest of the suit although the rep insists that the inner membrane should be good enough on its own to keep out the water,

I will reserve judgement on the waterproof qualities and report after the next thunderstorm.

I will not reserve judgement on http://www.motorcycle-clothing.co.uk/ who have top marks for customer care:thumb2. I sent the email about the pants at 2015 on Saturday night and had a reply at 2106 that night saying the Rev'it rep would be contacted. This was followed up by a phone call this morning from Sue to ask for both liners from the jacket and pants to be returned for replacement. I only bought the pants from motorcycle clothing, the jackets was from Harpers. Well done Sue :hug

I have just had the first ride in real rain since fitting the new "Waterproof" membrane. still ended up with a wet crotch and seriously soggy arms after only 20 minutes at 70mph.

I have now written to the UK importer of rev'it clothing and await a reply but for the moment I would be very unwilling to say the clothing is anything other than showerproof.

Anybody else out there with a different experience of this clothing in the wet?

excellent response from Rev'it offering new improved waterproof liners, a replacement outfit from their range or a full refund:thumb2.

They say there was a problem with a small batch of liners and they have now changed their seam tape suppliers which has solved the problem.

I like the outfit and have opted for a new set of waterproof liners with the other options still open if the problem persists.

Good to see a manufacturer not trying to duck the issue.

I will need to wait for the next thunderstorm to see how the outfit copes.

Very interested to hear the outcome of this. I was just about to order a Cayenne Pro jacket and pants. Think I'll hang on for a little while yet.

How are the latest liners? I'm in the same position and can't decide what to do.

I am also in the same position, rode home from work on tuesday in the rain 13 miles and the rain came through on both arms and a damp crotch which is not wot i expect from a suit of this price! (offtrack jacket + dakar pants) i wonder how many others are having the same problem?

Wife now wearing the Rev'it gear and I am too shy to ask if her crotch is damp. I needed to be sure I would be dry so I lashed out for Hein Gericke TRG RALLYE GTX III Gore-tex suit.

Seriously, wife has worn the Rev'it suit in rain but not a downpour and it appears to be OK with the new liners. She also wore it for 2000 miles on summer hols in the very hot and dry and was well impressed with the comfort.

Both suits washed and re-proofed with Nikwax and turned out OK.

I think the new liners are an improvement on the previous version but probably Gore-tex is still king

Dakar Problems

My Dakar pants are 6 months old and done about 4,000 miles, I am taking them back as both pocket liners have split, one of the seams on the leg on the front is coming apart and one of reflective strips has become detached.

Not great on £ 160 pair of pants

I'll let you know how I get on

tarry the pants work its just you still need tena for men
