Got myself the off-track/dakar combo a week or two back. Really happy with it.

Was admiring the Off Track jacket in Bill Smiths this afternoon, but can anyone explain the mesh pocket/panel affairs on the front? They don't seem to be for ventilation, the zips for that were on the side, but they would do a good job of keeping your fags cool.
Am I missing something?

They are great, those mesh bits, youd be suprised how much you can get in there, i use it to stuff fags, mars bars and my garmin quest, and usually keys and earplugs in... Easy to open, easy to get to... a good idea in my eyes.

Same here! Quest goes in the right, ear plugs and keys in the left. The other jacket pockets are proper belt and braces jobs (fold over double layer waterproof, etc) The mesh ones are nice and easy to feel when you have gloves on and you can see whats in them in your mirrors!
