A few of us (6) met up for some off road fun on Sunday. What a superb day we had, fantastic weather and the Welsh countryside in all it's Auntumn glory.

I'm afraid we didn't take too many pictures as the going got a bit like the 'Road of Bones' at times and I was concentrating on staying alive let alone upright

Here's Robbie C

Arriving on his XL, we were meeting at the famous Crossgates Cafe. Some of us had already ridden for an hour plus to meet up, then had a half hour ride to the cafe stretched out by Gaz's XT limiting us to 50mph ;)

The Pink Way Round

Some were soon to regret bringing £12k bikes with them

A spot of lunch

This doesn't do justice to this trail. I'll admit now I'd stalled on a very technical bit just short of here and laid my bike down :o You also can't see my legs shaking either :D

Gary Holloway arrived and parked his beautifull 70's retro Paris Dakar replica next to Gaz's XT :o

Garry's new bike looks well....nothing retro about that, with the latest 1100GS swingarm and bevel box
Civil will be on his case :D

Nice View

You can see where we are heading on this one. The prospect worried me a little I have to say :eek

Pride comes before a fall, and overconfidence leads to this  :doh :tears :tears :tears

I know , I know, I'm dreadfully sorry about the 50 mph. :(
Thanks for all your patience :clap

I wish we had a picture of that fecking stream we went along, it must have been 2-300 yards of water, no wonder the XT coughed it's lungs out

Oops

I'll re-post this picture, this time without the Reg numbers in it :o

Here. once again, is Beauty and The Beast: Gary's lovely retro 70's Paris Dakar replica :loveheart and Gaz's XT :smurf

No worries, glad you got home OK :thumb

I turned off at the first petrol station we came to but you carried on so I was a bit worried about you. Jim turned up with Stu and Jim and I carried on together but you must have turned off as we didn't catch you :nenau

I CAN'T BREATHE

I think I would struggle to get going if someone held me under water 'til I stopped breathing.Total engine lock up

If we had drained the airbox it would have taken a fraction of the time to get started.you live and you learn

BTW did you see how much water came off the top of the piston ????

water doesn't compress at all,it's a good job it was at tick over when I decided to submerge it

what a day

garry, when I get the bike waterproofed a bit you will have to show me more of that trail

IMHO you have the best looking airhead around :bow :bow :bow

cheers

Rob

In bits

Fair play Garry, you must have worked hard to get the airhead on the road ........... :thumb after all it was just bare bits with wheels just a couple of weeks ago. Good to see a proper GS out playing though :D
