Thats rich coming from a former Tayside Traffic officer who, when standing on the Braemar/Ballater road didn't know which direction Ballater was in... :dabone (I'll never forget that moment...Pure Quality! :thumb )

As far as I know and remember the Braemar/Ballater road is in Grampian and not Tayside :dabone now stand still my boy while I take that hook out of your cheek ;) :D

Hi Andy,

How about the new petrol station just off the Broxburn roundabout? :thumb

Where in my post did I mention Perth? I offered to meet Stumpy at BroxBURN, seeing as how he's coming in from West Lothian and is a bit unsure of the roads. If, however, he wants to meet me in Perth, then BroxDEN roundabout is fine by me...

...bunch of Tossers

1. Mrs and Mrs Ronno leaving the house at 10.00. Will be at Broxden about 10.30/10.40...

Meet You In Dunkeld?

I'll be in Dunkeld at 11:15, anybody fancy meeting there on the way up to Glenlyon? - then we can choose a suitable scenic route there?
I've also attached a link to map showing the location of Bridge of Balgie, where the Glenlyon Tearoom is - just in case any other GS'ers fancy meeting there, but aren't sure where it is!!

Link to map:- http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.s...rchp=newsearch.srf&dn=786&ax=257500&ay=746500

Anyway, if Dunkeld's ok, maybe meet some of you there? - otherwise, 12:30'ish at Bridge of Balgie.

Cheers.........................................Grizzly

Where about in Dunkeld, George?

Hopefully should be there at some point, although suffering from the flu at the moment, think it was the swan supper I had in Ainster the other day :eek

Where about in Dunkeld??
Hi Ron, just in the car park next to the river, on the Coupar Angus road?
- ie. from the A9, over the bridge then first right and 100m along on right? - opposite the pub - is it the Tay Hotel??.

I plan to get there at 11:00 and will wait till 11:15?

Cheers.........................Grizzly

I don't know if I'll make it today. :( I've been up speaking into the big white telephone during the night and am feeling lousy. I'm going back to bed for an hour and will see how I feel when I get up.

No alcohol last night so I can't even blame that. Must have had a bit of Robbo's Swan Supper.

I'll put a post up as to yes or no about 09.00

Bast@rd! :( :( :(

No worries Ronno

I'll call in the fuel station on the way past to see if you made it

Grizz we'll see you at Dunkeld

Stumpy

I don't feel any better. Gonna give it a miss. Sorry guys.

Weather is ideal here too... :(

Sorry we didn't make it

We were late setting off cos the bike wouldnt start. Battery had gone flat over night. :(

By the time we set off it was snowing and when we reached Fort William, I couldn't see where I was going. That and the wife was already complainig about cold hands and feet. To be far, she does need some better gear, I just turned up the heated grips.:D

Decided to pop into G.C.'s and ended up staying for lunch :)

Well!! - Some of Us Made It!!!

Met up with Stumpy, Fiona and KC in Dunkeld, - Ronno, you wanna lay off the drink a bit - your gonna get us a bad name??.
Mart-p - Don't blame you for changing you mind, it's a long way in this sort of weather - see you both next time maybe??
Weather was nice all the way up - but a lot of snow on the high ground in Glenlyon. While we were havin our soup etc it started snowing  - and just kept snowing  . At this point the mad fifer arrived - no not you Ronno - the other one - Den!!
It was looking like a wet, cold run home when we left Glenlyon Tearoom but we were only about 2 miles down the road and all was dry  - so had a good run back via Fearnan, Kenmore, Glen Quaich, Amulree and the Sma' Glen. Would like to have gone over Ben Lawers, but that looked VERY snowy -another day?
Never mind - soon be summer

Cheers..............................Grizzly

Grizzly,

Sounds like it was a wise move not to go any further as I would have been coming over Ben Lawers. Glad you all had a good and mostly dry day out. :)

Hopefully see you at G.C.'s on Bank Holiday Monday?

What a nice day.
In a vain attempt to slow down and let everyone catch up, Grizzly George taped over one of the lenses on his spectacles. And he calles ME a mad Fifer. I think Ill name him 'the mental Monikian'. Is that wot folk from Monikie are called?
Anyway, the patch did work a wee bit. I just managed to keep up with him.
Glen Quaich was wonderful. In fact, all the roads were good today. A wee bit gravel to keep it exciting, but dry and empty.
Stumpy. You turned off a tad early. The way I was going bypassed Dunfermline and would have got you right onto the M90.
I will really have to get myself a house in Scotland ....................... wait a minute .... I already have !. Wot a lucky boy am I.

Sounds like you had a good run. Sorry that I missed it.

Den, I heard that Grizzly was The Last Of the Monikans :nenau

Looks like you guys had a good outing. My folks are over in Tyndrum and Glencoe for a few days and they said there had been quite a bit of snow.

Mountains look great, you lucky beggars :beerjug:
