Ride outs.

Maybe, live near Ilkley, it takes me nearly an hour to get there, where do you think you`ll go?

The forecast says it may snow on higher ground tomorrow morning but east is definitely drier that west of Squires.
I thought about Ampleforth College Tea Room - usually do a nice bowl of soup and I've always been too full to try their cakes.

Google Maps - Ampleforth Abbey College, YO62 4EY
btw - I hate gravel car parks & this one undulates but follow the entrance to the visitor centre & there's a nice big tarmac one :)

alternatively, the Gliding Club is just up the road.... thoughts?

Sorry just seen your reply- still frosty here so will wait until after 11am and just stay local.

Like the sound of the tea rooms at Amplefoth, nearly bought a shop there a few years ago.

Please Let me know when you plan another ride.

I'm still going out, will be at squires around 11, in no rush. Not started the GS in weeks so I could be on my DR250 - there's no frost or fog here now :)

Turned out to be quite a nice day. GS started first click :thumby:
Took the back roads through Cattal, over the bridge at Aldwark & through Coxwold.
Enjoyed a lovely Cream of Veg Soup followed by a cheeky slice of cake at the College cafe. Returned via the B1363 - all good until a nasty accident near The Farm Shop - I counted at least 4 cars smashed up. Definitely colder and cloudier back in Leeds.

Looks like a nice run. Is that the white horse by the Yorkshire gliding club ? I was out with the TRF a couple of weeks ago and stopped for some food at the club, I'm sure someone said something about a white horse on the hillside. My knowledge of the area is almost as bad as my sense of direction :D

Yes BigBeard, it's the Kilburn White Horse. Cafe at the Gliding Club is a good stop :) Maybe I'll give the TRF another go this yr, I was put off on my 1st ride out with them :(

I've got a pass for Sunday (working Saturday), meeting a mate at Squires (it's about half way for both of us) around 11ish. Any body fancy it?

Probably going down to cafe soon.
Can make it out tomorrow.

Cheers Dave.
