So… having received the call from on high (OK, Bill sent me a pm
) I set off for a godforsaken hole on the M25 called Thurrock (even sounds like a smelly piece of earth).
The trip over from harrow made me remember again why I don’t live east of London – It stinks
Anyway, I got there and found two suspicious looking types
Who were looking around some suspicious looking bikes
One of them sold me a new tank bag – he said It was made by
tech
Then we hear the unmistakable sound of MBW GS bikes being ridden with pink bras wrapped round their screens
With the Star in the lead
Other support riders followed with their supports clearly on display
The Star dismounted
And supports were passed on
the Region I team celebrate
And the Baton is officially passed onto Star No2
Bill meanwhile, who has ‘lost his clutch’ on the way to Thurrock (the smells probably rotted the seal) starts to see what he can do.
Apparently ones clutch fluid should not look like this
So Bill left it with the rest of the pollution in East London
After a quick trip to Halfords for some fluid to keep topping up/flushing out the system we got away – on time. Bill looked goooorrrgeous…..
And he looked dashing on the road
Lotsa fun getting out of London
But we were soon on the road and seeing the sea
Stopping off at Deal for a break and to meet friends of our leader
Bills troubles slipped from his clutch to his camera – RTFM Bill
Back on the road – very nice route through some lovely twisties
Stop off near Pevensy for a fuel break – “Bill, how big is it?”
and he starts using the pink mischief stick
We ride on into the setting sun:
And on arrival at Southampton Bill starts getting up close and personal
And shows the Region III star what his pink mischief stick can do
The supporters handed over their supports
And Region III rode off into the night – we went for a burger and things all got a bit blurred from this point on – tears on the lens I think -
Fantastic experience and well done to all who took part – thanks
