For Boxer Beet in July.

Fancy being a Road Captain? Now's your chance!

I've got routes if needed; probably one towards North Norfolk and one down the Suffolk and Essex coasts.

* you only get GOLD if they all come back unharmed.

Do you do them in a muddy/dusty/sandy brown? :D

Newbie to "leading" but if no one else offers ........
Peter

Hi Tim,

Hoping to be able to come to your lovely weekend, and will confirm asap. If I can come I am happy to lead someone somewhere, maybe the Essex and Suffolk coast with Peter as my sweeper? Need a limit of around 10 bikes plus leader and sweeper, I reckon?

Happy to discuss at Banham over some of my Werther's Vodka just bottled and ready to go...

Might not be apathy .... a lot of us like to ride alone or with just one or two others :nenau I'm not being critical here as it's each to their own :beerjug:

There is a perception that the main reason to want to be a member of this site is to go to all the GSer meets and hang about with lots of others with the same type of bike and that not wanting that marks you out in some way. I only come here to learn and for a little banter. :D

But, hopefully this takes off big time and becomes a regular feature in the GS calendar

Each to their own indeed, Dave. :thumb

I never thought I would like riding in groups either, let alone leading them. If you have the right group and use the drop-off (as opposed to the fall-off) system it can be really good fun. The GSer run I led from Finchingfield to Tiptree a few years ago had 20+ bikes. All arrived safe, no pressure, no bunched up groups and everyone doing their own thing. Not like the packs of twats hurtling along on a Sunday blindly following the bike in front. :rob

The main reason I joined here was to grab a bargain, by the way, and the social stuff is a bonus. :thumb

Here's an idea.

Why not publish a route in advance. Everyone can load it in to savnavs, or mark up maps.

People can then set off when they like, with who they like - even on their own if they smell really bad :D People can form their own group if wanted.

It's at your own pace.

We can then all meet up in the evening, share discussions about the lovely scenes we've witnessed and we don't have any of the hassles of organised group rides??
