Rims

I thought the LC had a wider rim than the hexhead, bigger tyre.
can't you find hexhead wheel then?

No it's just there are some LC rims available at an interesting price and would save me a lot of time. However the lc rim is a 4.5 against a 4 on a hexhead, but the hexhead tyres will fit. But on workg it out the spokes would be a different size therefore the exercise is academic.

1150gs front rim is the same as the 1200, rear probably is as well. only the colour is different

The rims were available as a single part for air cooled bikes, don't know about LC. For the price and difficulty of rebuilding a wheel with a new rim onto a used hub you'd be better off sourcing a decent used wheel unless you want a 'special'.

Aluminium / stainless corrosion is an issue with these wheels.
Brass ferrules (both ends) may well help but it's unlikely that any exist in suitable sizes.

A wider rim allows a wider tyre but watch for swing arm clearance problems.

The LT (180 -17 tyre) has a different wheel offset with different swing arm to keep the rim and correctly aligned.

Just a thought would the nipple holes in the LC wheel for direction of rotation purposes being fitted on the "other side", not be different as your inverting the wheel.

Wilde and Insane

But the question was will WC rims work with Hexhead hubs.
He needs to look at spoke numbers, crossing angles and spoke wire diameters. If they are the same, the WC rims should be usable.
