Help,

road tested a GS last sat with the other half. We both noticed that the bike had a 'lot' of vibration at 4-5 k revs, is this normal? At 80mph , indicated i might add !!' sat on the M-way it was planted solid no vibes. Bike had 2500 miles. Basically we were not impressed with the amount of vibration but is this the norm? Currently ride a Sprint ST no vibes but then again won't be able to green lane on the ST

Advice gratefully received

PS the bike was from Williams in Manchester

Poor valve adjustment most likely. Do a search on the tab at the top on 'Valve adjustment' and you'll get the idea soon enough. A well serviced bike with balanced throttles should be smooth and comfortable but it'll never be Jap multi cylinder smooth - after all its 75 year old BMW Boxer technology ....but we luv em for all their faults :D

Thanks for the tip will have a search and read. Ref the M-way, I don't intend to sit everywhere on the M-way, but it was a test ride from the centre of Manchester, so it was a city crawl start stop, then on to the A roads 40+ TRAFFIC! then a 5 mile stretch on the M60. Unfortunately didn't have time to get into the Peaks. I did ride a GS off-road back in May with the BMW off-road course in Wales so have had a fair crack of all road types, in this country at least. We are looking for a bike to take us round southern africa, New Zealand and the GS was the first choice. I remember the GS back in May wasn't viby so wanted to ask the experts for their feedback. We also planning a trip in the summer to the Pytennes and with the best will in the world will have some mile hacking to do, hence the M-way test.

Funny, that's the main reason my wife likes the GS :D
