Just back from trip to BARRA, notrh west Scotland ,small island. Barra is famous for its air strip which happens to be the beach when the tide is out.(of course). Aftewr going for a short flight to benbecula and back,got chatting to one of the lads working there,he said it would be ok to go for a blast along beach/runway. It was a big tide so it goes out for more than1kilometre,had to try it! Bit squidgy on run out but on way back got 85mph no bother,brilliant fun and used hose for aeroplane to hose down. One of experience! only negative was digital camera decided to wipe out 17 shots which included one at edge of sea. Good tip for drying off soaking legs, drive for half an hour with legs on cylinders so wind blows up your legs. Guid fun.
