had them at the Ron Haslem race school on the Fireblade... we all loved them..... but I stupidly didnt realise that was an option for the GS (19 inch front !)
Hey , I wouldnt be surprised if they'd disappeared at 4000 miles too! ( like the much loved Metzeler )

Ron Haslam are using Dunlop Roadsmarts now?! I thought they were contracted to Bridgestone on the T30's?

No I've already got nearly 6K on mine, smashed through 4K on tour in the Pico's

Sorry to hijack this thread but, I am mega impressed with the Anakee 3,s that are on my bike, hit a massive rainstorm the other week, and they where solid.

Aye the Anakee 3's are a great general all round tyre for sure, but honestly, if you put 'sportier' road focussed tyres on, such as the Roadtec 01 or Roadsmart 3's, the GS is transformed into a far sportier beast - if that's what you want from it

I agree with that, the anakees were fine until 2/3 worn then I would start to get little rear wheel slides under normal riding conditions, they seem to sudden 'go off'.
On 2nd Roadtec rear on the same front (bad timing for long trips) front having done 4000mls is now , when the roads are smooth with slowish bends, very noisy producing a loud whine when leant over.
I will try the dunlops next as I had the roadsmart II on a vstrom and could not fault them.

Cheers for that well now I know Anakees will be going when they get to 2/3rds worn, having a hard time thinking about Dunlops, as had them on my Harleys, and always hated them, and not sure I want to transform my ride into a sportier beast, given ride 2 up very often, so will need at least a tyre that lasts a bit longer, wallet is not elastic lol.

Honestly, the new Dunlop Roadsmart 3's are absolutely fantastic for the road. Wet/dry grip is phenomenal, and so far the wear is pretty good too.

I've absolutely spanked them, commuting, rideouts, touring the Pico's, and track days, and they're still going with nearly nearly 6,000 miles!

They have been totally battered to see what they'll put up with, and I'm chuffed to bits with them.

Definitely my 1st choice for road tyres for the GS at the mo

Another vote for the Roadsmart 3. Fitted them for a trip to Austria and they were bloody brilliant over the 2600 miles of mixed and often sprited riding. About 4K on them now and they are wearing remarkably well. I'll definitely be fitting another set when these wear out :thumb

Another thumbs up for Roadsmart 3s. Had them on my GS last year, toured Spanish Pyrenees. Outstanding performance in all conditions and even got a few comments about how far I was leaning the bike. Felt completely planted.
Will be my next tyres once Anakee things have some wear on the new GS!
