Anyone found a hardwearing, waterproof rucksack/backpack capable of storing and protecting laptop, spare shirt and a pair of shoes - to save me riding with panniers? Cheers.

I bought a JEEP travel rucksac three years ago. It has been with me all around the world - used every day for carrying large heavy work files - used on bike whenever. Three zippered compartments. Used abused - washed it, crushed it, the inner lining is starting to show wear. Still not leaked. Outside is still fine. It costs £20 from TKMAXX!!!
It is damn sight more reliable than my mobile phone
If you can find a JEEP one I would recommend it.

I bought an Osprey backpack and I'm well pleased with it. It has a laptop pocket inside (which can also take a hydro-pack), is very comfy, really well made etc and just really good basically! I use mine for work too - it'll take all me bits and bobs plus trainers. They're generally quite pricey but worth it IMH, as it's certainly built to last. Might be worth a look...

Ortlieb?

Try this Mel it's an Ortlieb S-Cape loaded with laptop and size 11's. It has a zipped compartment inside for a wallet etc along with a pouch which fits a 2ltr camel, and as you can see a zipped mesh bag on the outside. The back is padded as are the straps.

I use a Boblebe which is designed especially for lap tops. It has a hard outer shell, expanding bellows at the side and is 100% waterproof. I've even had an off with it and apart from some scratches to the shell it was fine. Have been using it 6 years now and reckon it's good for a few more.
I believe Suzuki marked them a few years ago claiming it served as a back protector - not convinced about that one.....

Oh, and it looks dead funky!

I've got a cheap, lightweight receptacles capable of carrying large weights for miles.
Waterproof if you use 2 - upper 1 over the other.
Free and constantly renewable - i white only

Came from Tesco 's, i think.......... :nenau :D

Thanks all - I wish my customers responded so promptly - shouldn't complain - they are paying for the mighty red (fastest) monster. Cheers. Mel.
