rocker protectors

bit of a lazy question, but anyone happen to know the rough price of the black plastic rocker cover protectors that bmw sell???

IIRC somewhere in the region of £64.00 when i picked up my machine but that was a while back now so could have gone up!

What are they supposed to do?

You had better ask if anyone has tested them; They may be useful WITH crash bars as well. When my GS tumbled in the gravel in a car park, bits of gravel got stuck in the magnesium rocker covers - so a little more protection might have been worthwile

Good for stationary / low speed falls. Had two 5mph drops on my last GS with the plastic protectors and they did their job.

I tested them the hard way after 4 good offs they then let go. One cover OK other cover scratched.

Saving up for some alloy ones, probably going to go for Steptoe specials if he still does them
