I don't know this section at all yet am leading a tarmac based day ride from Cheltenham to Isle of White & back and hoped some of you who know the area south of Marlborough may be able to suggest a reasonably direct route that's slightly more interesting than my Garmin suggests which is all A roads. Mixed bunch of bikes from sports to adventure. Best Biking Roads is a bit sparse in that area hence I'm scratching my head a bit on this one.

Thanks in advance.

take the long way round and fit in zigzag hill :thumb2:D

What about, M4 Junction 16, across near to wroughton, broad hinton, hack pen hill to Marlborogh, then down to tidworth under the A303 and then pick up the B3084 and down through the wallops to romsey and then down to Beaulieu and along the coast to lymington

Seconded! Avoid Lyndhurst at all costs - its a jam whatever time of the day it is.

Thanks Daffy and for seconding Beemerman59. Exactly what I was looking for, quite direct but on more interesting roads. Really appreciate your help. :beerjug:

Whilst I agree Lyndhurst is the New Forests car park, filtering passed the lot gives me great pleasure.

Agreed when you're on your own but taking a gaggle of bikers through there is a right pain.
