Been given conflicting advice about how to get from Dun Laoghaire ferryport to the N4. Anybody got a simple route that keeps me out of Dublin centre.

M 50

Head straight for the M 50. Fairly sure it's signposted out of the port. Maybe not the best route but definitely the simplest. No tolls; none for bikes anyway but you exit before the toll gates.

Ricardo, the N4 is now the M4 until further west where it reverts to the N4 again.:thumb2

But Fergie is right. Head for the M50 which will be well sign posted and then once on the M50, M4 will be sign posted.:thumb2

Where you off to?

If you have half an hour spare, you can turn left, ice cream at Teddys ( just after People's Park) follow the coast road around Sandycove, Martello Tower (James Joyce), Coliemore, Bulloch Harbour, Vico Road (view to die for), Killiney Village, Military Road, then hard right for Ballybrack, and cut into the M50 at Cherrywood.
Just Yummy!

Thanks all. Teddys sounds good, but we'll have to save it for the way back... If I still fit in my jacket by then.

Live in Blackrock when home, often think you need to be away from Ireland to appreciate it.
My fave is to go down Seapoint ave, and on to Sandycove, then up the footpath to the 40foot, out around Killiney.
My other fave is Galway via the Slieve blooms, then Westport via Clifden or Maam / Leenaun.
Wait now, let me think....
Bin
