Anyone know how to alter or move the start point of a route already loaded into the GPSR. After constructing a complex route avoiding major roads from Scarborough back to Nottingham. I found that the original start point of the route was infact about a mile from my present position. When I came to activate the route the GPSR firstly tried to send me in the wrong direction to the original start point of the route. Not what I wanted to do but the GPSR kept trying to reroute me back to the original start point.
So how do I alter the original start point to my present position.
Eventually I had to stop the route and do a goto to my home which lost all of my original route. Hope that makes sense.

Gazza,

what GPS are you using? On my SPIII, it asks me once whether I want to recalculate. If you select 'No' or just press Page, it then leaves you alone until you intercept the route, when it starts to 'turn by turn' you as normal. In order for this to work, you should have 'Automatic Re-calculation' (or whatever it's called), de-selected...

Mike:)

Hi Mike nice to read your journal seems you are having a great time, very envious.
I have a Nav 2 and will try your suggestion tomorrow.
The options offered on my nav 2 are Guidance tab opens options for Prompted, Automatic-Announced, Automatic-Silent and Off.
So I will try it with Off Route Recalculation OFF.
Let you know what happens later.

*realisation dawns*

Mike....only just sussed out that's your bike on the screen from the copper's car.....

I think you can claim the prize for the smallest piccy of a bike here ever...7x7 pixels heheh

Tried it this morning and works perfectly with the Auto Recalc turned off. Thanks again Mike.

Prompted

Got mine set to prompted which gives you the option.

When the prompt screen comes up just ignore it and aftera while it will go away.
Or press Page button to clear screen.
Page button also gets rid of any menu screens quickly.

cheers

Yes Gerry but it gets in the way when you're trying to see which bloody way you should be going. I've turned my re-calc off and if I make a mistake and go off route slightly I can make up my own re-calc on the sceen map.

Quit button, surely?
