Routes needed from Workington

Hardknot and Wrynose passes are not to far away :thumb

Workington is in the North West by the way :blast

Aye...but Cumbria has been moved to the North East...:eek

Plenty of good fell roads, Hardknot and Wrynose as mentioned...

Day 1 = Workington to Honister pass to Keswick, to Torver, back via Broughton Mills and Ulpha fell to Eskdale, to Gosforth and back to Workington...102 miles. Add a loop in of Hawkshead, ferry at Windermere if thats too short...

Day 2 = Scottish Borders....any roads...:thumb2

How about?

Workington to Alston via hartside, down the Wear Valley to Stanhope, then over the moors to Middleton-in-Teesdale, then over more moors to Brough, along to Kirby Stephen, Tebay, then the road to kendal, up to Keswick and back to Workington. 185 miles and a cracking route :D

I know, so why is Cumbria in the North East section....would have thought there was a Lake District section????

Strange isn't it? The North East version of BBC Look North also covers Cumbria news, but perhaps that's just to distinguish the true north of England from, well, the south :D
