RT 1200 Police bike problems . . . . . .

You couldn't make this up, BMW sell 12 RTP's to the Irish Garda Traffic department. Today three of them are grounded due to gearbox issues (stuck in gear or hard to select gear). I hope they sort them quickly. Are there any well known gearbox issues with the 1200 RT's ?

No. There are no general gearbox issues.

The Garda had bigger problem with there FJR's fleet that's why they replaced them with RTP's ..
Didn't here about any problems about the gearbox this side of the pond .

My 2014 RT had a new clutch fitted at 6k, they said it was something to do with internal rubbing (the bike not me) and it had all new parts, symptoms were: difficulty in getting Neutral, not able to get into 1st sometimes.

sounds like a clutch actuation problem , not a gearbox problem

I'm hearing mutterings of some of the lads being unhappy and missing their Yamaha's............. it really is hard to please some people!!!
