How do the RT Mono side panels fit?

I can see that there is a pin which should have a rubber on it, but what do the other two points fix to? Do they only fit propperly when the RT fairing is fitted?:nenau

Puzzeled! Val.

Mine's at the back of the garage at the mo', but, I'm sure they are retained by a screw on the lower face.

Val, The panel has a moulded in ring on one end and an open ended one on the other. On the frame there are corresponding pins . There should be a rubber grommet on the front end and the rear pin has a bobbin. they are fitted by pushing the panel on from the front, engaging the grommit on the pin. When fully engaged the rear open ended ring is pushed firmly onto the bobbin, sometimes requires a sharp smack. THEN,, and this is the important bit that stops them flying off...... There is a self tapper that screws in vertically from below into a little bracket on the frame.
Hope this helps.

Arr! Thank you gentlemen. That answers the question. I have found in the workshop manual that there is supposed to be a frame mounted bracket that has the part the screw fixes to, but it is missing from my outfit (as is the fairing).

I have the pin on the rear subframe that should have a rubber bobbin, but the pin on the main frame seems to have been removed for some reason :nenau That'll be why I couldn't find any way to fix them on :thumb2

Looks like I'll be finding another method of fixing them on then :blast

Cheers guys Val.
