hallo everybody good to be here.
working one a new to me rt 1100, replaced hall sensors (wasn't running before that) and the bike would not tick over what ever i would do balance tb, tps set. only if i advanced tps to over0,60 it will tickover but rough.
while checking around to see whats going on i noticed that while i turned the engine over by hand the pump would sound (a sigh of ignition signal discharge) some time before full advance Z mark.
although i checked and double checked everything (even the trigger plate and located and glued it on the belt pulley) it still ignites before the z mark and its running rough.
can it be a fault of the ignition box?
thanks for your help

what is wrong, how can i adjust the timing to get it running smooth?

maybe i should be more clear,
should the static timing come up at OT, or is it ok like that (currently before Z while revolving by hand)
if yes what are the possible couses for the wrong timing
hall sensors
hall sensors triger adjustment (can not be that far out, can it?)
ignition box?
what else

many thanks

It will ,obviously fire before the Z if it's only being rotated by hand as it will be on full retard, when it's reving at a few 1000's it will then run at full advance.
What's the condition of the sensor wiring?.

2 sensor packs at hand original with butchered wiring Running (on one and backfiring on the other with throttled) and a non original brand new replacement that will run but will not tickover.
davegs, i believe its the other way around, slow running ignition just before (S) top dead center OT in our case which will increase to full advance when revs increase around Z in our case. am turning engine over by hand (static) and ignition is happening way too early, before Z although it should happen around S mark. traying to figutr out, if its the reason for my bad tickover and how can i rectify it.

cheers davegs

I stand humbled mis read the problem sorry to mislead I'll get back under my stone.

davegs, no need to apologise, only trying to help. i apreciate that.
yes, throttle cables seated.

Spark plugs that was the root of my recent problems and they were only 8 months old. so give them a look and ensure you get the right BMW specifications as they have changed according to BMW.
