Rubber inserts are available for the front footpegs on the R12GSA for a surprisingly reasonable price. According to Neil C these have a significant and surprising impact on vibration.

Part numbers are:

C46.71.7.696.748 F/Rest rubb £6.88 (2 required)
C07.11.9.902.745 Nut £0.14 (4 required)
C46.71.7.696.948 Counterhold £2.54 (2 required)

All prices plus VAT.

The counterhold is a plate which fits under the footpeg.

Before and after pics. attached.

Hope this is of interest/use.

never had an issue with vibration but they have saved my boots from being shredded by the metal oe ones.

Funnily enough, when Neil and I were chatting about the footpeg rubbers he mentioned the shredding of boot soles. However, I have always thought that the bare metal footpegs are too smooth and don't dig into the boot soles enough.

In 1500 miles the boots were starting to get chewed up,Done 6000 miles with the rubber inserts without out further issue.

They can be slippery when wet/muddy - I take mine off for the winter for that reason. Have not had any issues with my boots either when they are not fitted but, then again, I don't stand on the pegs that often.

The prices you have quoted, where were they from?

Hello Craig et al

Sorry, I should have said that they were from Vines (Caterham), i.e. BMW part numbers and prices.

I hadn't realised when submitting the original post that they were available from other suppliers at, er, different prices. Hence my second posting referring to NN.

I had them on my old GSA, they worked well but upgraded to a twincam GS so they are sitting in a drawer now!

I had them on my 1150GS but took them off because they were slippery!

It'll be interesting to see (feel) if they were worth the investment.

Ditto. But only my left boot, which has two parallel groves that match the teeth on the peg. Right boot is unmarked. :nenau I wasn't aware that I adopt some variant of the side-saddle position on my GSA:comfort

Same with me...I can't remember which boot it was, but it only ripped up the one!

I've recently had mine re-soled so can't check at the moment for wear.
