Rugby - I love it I do!

1330? Game KO is 1315 so the noise should start by at least 1312 when the first anthem plays!!!

Worryingly I think Paul O'Connell could make a difference and it's about time BOD showed up. I think Wales are starting the OHs the right way around so that'll be interesting when Hooky comes on. Just hope they boys don't go into their shells and kick for corners and try and beat ROG at his own game.

Mellon was def. the right choice at Loose, he should give "hopeless" Hayes a torrid time and will fly around the field...maybe another charge down try as in the 2005 Grand Slam decider???

Forecast I saw is for rain, which means Shane will be slipping all over the place and doesn't play to Welsh strengths.

It'll be a good one to win that's for sure!!

I'm at an 81st birthday party on Sat (neighbour had a big one for 80th then thought he might as well celebrate every additional one in the same way)....but in typical Welsh tradition it's not being held in a restaurant or pub or house but in the rugby club in a private function room with big screens showing the game and food and drink laid on. Children and relatives are all encouraged to attend as long as they don't walk in front of the screens and talk during the anthems!!!

One way or the other I'll apologize for my drunken ramblings on this board on Sat night in advance :beerjug:

I think Peel is still suffering with his shoulder hence phillips getting the nod, but also thinking he might get in the face of O'gara try to wind him up a little. There was talk of that winger from the Blues getting a shout in place of Mark Jones, in a way glad jones got it just for his expierence it may make the difference. Did not know about the weather that could hold us back abit our kicking game is not the best lets hope it stays fairly firm under foot. I think BOD & CO are desperate for this win so may add extra pressure to their game, or this just me wishfull thinking again. Bloody hell can't wait for Saturday.:clap

Sorry boyos but its all gonna come crashing down about your ears on Saturday...FFS you beat the English when they failed to turn up for the second half and then you've played the two worst teams in the championship at home and beaten them but according to you lot the GS is already in the bag. It will all end at Croke Park :aidan

Sorry forgot, Wales did'nt beat England, it was Engand that just let us win. So it had nothing to do with the fact that wales actually woke up in the second half and started to put some pressure on you boys, teams just dont fall apart for no reason, not at that level anyway. So onward to the Grand Slam:augie

I'll be cheering for Wales based purely on the reception I've had there with the fans every time I have watched a team play there, whether they won or lost.

Think Wales is actually on the move up the improvement/self belief curve. They will need to up the ante this weekend but they have the blokes to do it.

For my own sake, I will quietly sip a hundred or so Stellas watching Scotland fail to provide any hope for the near future.......again. :( Ah well. On the other hand I guess I can claim that Scotland just self-imploded from the kick-off and let England win if the Calcutta heads south. :D

No matter what, it's the 6 nations and I love it! :beerjug:

Oh! Shrimpo! What a day! Don't you just love rugby?

Back to Wales....not many sides have created that many chances this year, let alone in one game, so thank goodness they came away with the TRIPLE CROWN!!!!!!!!

I hope the Scots guy is ok, it looked a nasty knee in the head (by accident) and also hope BOD is ok for the next game.

Did I mention the triple crown Lord Snooty? What exactly was going to end at Croke?

If anyone out there get's the cahnce to have a day out in Cardiff next weekend, take it...no matter what the result you won't regret it.

Failing Cardiff....come to Ebbw Vale RFC and ask for me in the private party upstairs....whether it be 2nd place, the Chapionship or yet another GS we'll be partying hard and GSers are invited!!! (Guy who owns the club is a biker!!)

Well done Scotland and well done Wales!!!

Pardon Snoots, what was that you said? :D

Whoever wrote "Irelands Call" deserves a medal. After the Welsh anthem it must ne one of the most stirring anthems ever - and if that doesn't get you fired up enough to run through a wall, you must be clinically dead. It's got be played at near full volume to get the effect though. :thumb

You won't believe this but my brother had 4 tickets for Wales v France ... and gave them away to a colleague at work. :eek I now haven't got a ticket, but I'm really tempted to ride down to Cardiff just for the atmosphere, a pint or two and an Italian. Never thought of going to the city on match day without a ticket before ..... but this is the a Grand Slam decider. Does anyone know if there's a big screen somewhere in Cardiff? :bounce1

They had big screens up by the castle and also in City Hall grounds in 2005, for your sake I hope they do the same again.

Well, what can i say, what a great day of rugby it was, o.k i predicted a 10 point win got that wrong but hey its the triple crown in the cabinet. I said to my wife just before Scotland/England ran out onto the pitch that i had a sneaky feeling the Scots would win. All we we need is an Italian victory today to complete the weekend, oh and Toseland to win the MotoGP. So down to Llangennith on Friday, drive into Cardiff on Saturday, pull tickets out my pocket buy a beer and find my seat and start singing, as i said the other day, "Cant bloody wait".

I will start..........Guide me o thy great redeemer...........

..... but this is the a Grand Slam decider. Does anyone know if there's a big screen somewhere in Cardiff? :bounce1

Taff, the Walkabout has a cinema size screen but the queue to get in can go done the street for miles! you and the rest of Wales without a ticket will want to be in Cardiff:D

Taff,

What about the Irish bar opposite the castle, it wasn't too full for the Italy match.

We even found seats.:D

taff if you want to go down , lets go on the train then we can enjoy a couple whilst watching on a screen somewhere???

give us a bell its gotta be worth the trip ..:beerjug:

Ok I'll eat a slice of humble pie, well done Wales, you deserved the win and are playing great rugby - Shane Williams is red hot at the moment, I thought Ireland would best you at Croke Park but hey if I fell into a barrel of tits I'd come out sucking my thumb:D Wales are the team of the moment due in no small part to an Englishman in your coaching team:D England's failure to snap Shaun Edwards up and make him part of their set up is going to come back and haunt them again and again I think.

Watching France today I make Wales favourite to win next week so given my failure to pick a winner all weekend that should put the kibosh on it for you Taffs.

ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!!

Sorry I mised your earlier call Slimbo - I was in the office. :blast Given that its a late kick-off (5.00pm IIRC) I don't fancy taking the bike or the car. I'll PM / ring / text you in the next day or so - maybe my brother could even put us up for the night if I ask him nicely. :thumb2

Paul, the only "Irish bar" I know is the one by the city centre church - O'Neills I think it's called. Do you know the name of the pub or the street name?

Taff, I think its called Dempseys on castle street. I found it on google but couldn't upload the link :blast Heres the address anyway http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/22/22046/Dempseys/Cardiff
EDIT>>Wot the Feck It worked!!!!!

Last Grand Slam they had a massive screen by the city hall which was great, take your own beer and nibbles and :monkeypiz ease springs in a smelly portaloo :augie
If you are going in for the match I would highly reccomend that you get in early and watch Italy Scotland as well and stay put, as it gets silly and just don't think about going from bar to bar :( :(
I will be staying local :beer::beer: I expect, mind ewe the thought of going out with a load of tossers :tosser sounds interesting aswell
