Don’t like having to post this but cant think of anything else to do. Can anyone tell me is there something wrong at Rugged Roads? I am finding it difficult to contact then, don’t seem to be getting any replies from my recent emails, left messages on answer phone but nothing back from them

I PM’d Chuck on here yesterday nothing back there either, even logged on their site and sent a request for some contact via the site email.

I don’t want to say too much just yet as there may well be a plausible explanation, I realize the company has a good record which is why I dealt with them.

Just tried to call again, got a strange message saying its Friday very  no answer. Any help would be appreciated especially from Rugged Roads.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

he was last online here on the 23-09-08....

i'll move this post to the vendors section till something is sorted

i had contact with annette from rugged this week, try to ;pm her

Tried Chuck two days ago, didn’t realise Annette has her own, so as you suggested I just PM'ed her.

cheers.

I had my suspicians that all was not well this week. I'd ordered some things from them last week. had an email to say that they had been despatched and would be delivered tomorrow - nothing. I e mailed them twice - no reply. I tried phoning them today - either engaged or answer machine.

Just as I thought "they've gone bust with my cash (only £45 but still)" when, through the letterbox, plopped a padded envelope with the fatfoot and brake reservoir guard, and a free sticker!

So maybe they have someone off ill or something. It can affect a small business in a big way. It would have been good customer service to let us know about a delay - we understand these things.

Anyway the stuff I had from them looks brill.

I am disappointed that you felt the need to post here as I have been in constant contact regarding your order, and have responded to every one of your emails promptly detailing exactly what was happening with your order. :nenau

As you are already aware, we originally despatched your order using our carriers on 15th September. They returned it to us on 24th September as the address you entered on your order does not exist.

We advised you we had received it back and as a gesture of our goodwill we reshipped the package at no extra charge to yourself, despite the fact that it was your error. You then gave us the correct delivery address and we redespatched your order on 25th September again with our carriers. You then contacted me to advise it was not delivered and when I spoke to our carriers they advised that the delivery had been refused at 10:41am on 26th September, for which I emailed you the carrier screen shot of the refused delivery - and it was being returned to us. Although you stated this was not the case, the parcel was already on its way back to us again, and we were unable to do anything until the package arrived back with us.

When the package arrived back with us (yesterday) I sent it straight out again using 1st Class Royal Mail Recorded Delivery - 8th October and I emailed you the tracking details (again there was no charge for re-delivery). I have checked with Royal Mail and they have advised that the package was delivered and signed for today.

I am glad that you have finally received your order, and sorry that it took so long, but on each occasion we have done our utmost best to get the package to you with the information we have had available to us from you the customer, and our carriers, DPD.

If you no longer want the items, please return them for my attention and I will provide a full refund. However, as we have had to ship the order 3 times, the refund would be less the original postage charge.

If you wish to discuss this in more detail, please PM me and I will give you my mobile telephone number but I am away from 6pm this evening until Monday morning.

Regards
Annette

Sounds fair Annette. Can only thank you for prompt delivery of my items.

As you will have seen from the postmark on the package it was despatched on 2nd October - the day it was ordered. I call that a quick turnaround.:D:D:D The package was posted 1st Class Royal Mail Delivery and emailed to advise it had been despatched.

When Rugged Roads first opened its' doors we had taken the decision to ship all orders on a guaranteed next working day service with our carriers.

However, our customers advised us that they required cheaper shipping. It was even brought up here on the UKGSer forum.

So, in order to supply a service our customers requested, we lowered the delivery charge and advised that all packages would be sent using the cheapest option. The members here told us they wanted it shipped Royal Mail so we did.:D Unfortunately, with using Royal Mail, however efficient we may be in shipping your order, we have no say over the amount of time it takes Royal Mail to deliver:nenau:nenau:nenau:nenau

If anyone is experiencing any delay on their order, may I suggest that you contact us to let us know and then we can look into it. Sean if you had contacted me I could have let you know it was definitely sent, provided the tracking number to you and looked into where it had got to:kissy2

Regards
Annette

PS The free sticker is because we had some:D:D:D:D

Annette... it might be a good idea to change your user name to Rugged Roads so that people on here know who to contact and no mix ups in communication happen. (you can contact Paul G (BHT)If you want your name changed) :)

By the look of it you've done all what would be considered reasonable to get the product to the customer... and have just been let down on the postal side which you have not much control over.

In defence of Rugged Roads, a wee while ago I ordered a Fatfoot sidestand, and recieved it in about 2 days...FAR quicker than I anticipated.

Good Company IMHO, and I have nothing to do with it apart from being a happy customer.

All is Well at Rugged Roads

1700 hours and I am home, goods with next door neighbour.

OK rather than get into a blame thing Annette can we kiss and make up and both learn from this experience? Ermm well just the make up bit then.

So to round my side off, goods have arrived today, brilliantly packaged and they look quality products, I will be fitting them later. I hope we can do business again sometime and have no resentment.

PS I didn’t get a free sticker :):)
