There are rumours on various websites.

I just thought I would ask if anyone on this site knows or has heard anything.

bmw are supposed to be bringing out the HP1 soon, a tarted up version of the 650 but with 10bhp more and supermoto styling and wheel,s
you are quite right though the 650 engine is getting on a bit and i just cant see bmw not offering us a gs type bike with the new 800 engine ,after all why would they go to all the time ,trouble and expense of developing a whole new engine and frame ,only to use it in essentialy one bike ? the 800f/s . i expect they will introduce it at least a year or so after the 800f/s . for me it would be the ideal bike. so fingers crossed :thumb

:thumb Verrrry nice.........Al it needs is knobblies and I'd want one!!

Isn't it a shame that concepts and artwork never looks like the final product though.

FWIW, I can't see an F800GS replacing the 650.....I'd imagine they'd run it as a new model in the line up and keep the 650 going.

Stick the letters "GS" onto any model in the line up, give a couple to an actor and friend, who has some spare time inbetween films. Bankroll them to go down Africa.

Bingo - a ready made market for the "new" GS.

And all the "wannabes" will send sales through the roof

There are Only Rumours of the HP1 .
may be launched on 1/4/6

there is the BMW enduro website
nowtheres a website for the F800.theres not much on it
but mentions the "first" two models of the 800 series
wonder what the"third" will be :P

Dont forget you need a website ;) www.seriousfun.com ;)

Mmm.......looks yummy :)

As Fanum says though, it'll never look like that :( - especially as the artist has basically put HP2 bodywork onto a 'berg.................

:mmmm
Spoke to my dealer (known him for donkeys ages) & he has always been reliable, so here goes:

F650GS / Dakar continues production, F800S/F800ST likely to be joined by a 3rd version next year, details not yet known, but who'd bet against a GS / Supermoto.

Next HP bike, another Boxer and the hot favourite is one that is based on the new R1200S, but as the regular version doesn't arrive until May, he feels its very unlikely we'll see it this year.

He did let slip about a new R1200 R maybe around September this year, might appeal to those who find the GS too tall in the saddle.

He'd finished off by saying "keep it under your hat" so guy's don't say anything okay...........

bo??ocks, it's out now!!!

Now if BMW use the 800cc parallel twin to make a GS type Rallye Raid Replica along the lines of Yamaha Motor France's works Yamaha XTZ850 RR, that Peterhansel rode to 5 Dakar victories..........it would sell very well indeed

Yeah but you'd want a bigger exhaust system than that one's got. I've seen bigger ones on 50cc 2 stroke scoots. It must also restrict the gas flow at peek revs.

'Tis the other side Geoff, a la F650 Rallye, the blue canister is the remote nitrogen bottle for the rear shocker....................ferking big one at that, that shock must be as supple as a Geisha masseuse :thumb :D
