Anyone local to Worcester who knows anything about electrics on 1200 05 GS? My running lights have stopped working, as they were on the bike when I bought it I have no idea as to how they are wired (or not, in my case) up. Has a LED (which doesn't) I have replaced the relay and still nowt, apart from throw it all away, I really would appreciate some guidelines. They used to operate off the indicator cancelling button, if that means anything to anyone?

If they're running off the indicator cancel button they're probably wired through an Autoswitch. It could be the Autoswitch has failed, or you have another fault in the circuit - relay, fuse etc. It's unlikely to be a light fault if both have failed together. Try chasing the wiring back from the lights and check for any fuses in the circuits.

Edited because I obviously can't type fast enough!

This sounds very promising, as you both have described what I have fitted to this machine, My prob, finding the fucking thing! As Mikeyboy has just rebuilt it from the ground up, I am loath to interfere with anything thats hidden under all the plastic panels. I suppose I'll have to bite the bullet some day, but I really feel these lights are worth there weight in gold, so fingers in ears and wait for the flash and blue smoke!!!!!

All fitments are likely to be different, but when I fitted my auxiliary lights the obvious place to position the Autoswitch and relay was in the small space underneath the "tool" tray, there's already another relay in there.

Have already replaced the relay with new item, but still no power to lights, I need to find out if the LED is still in circuit as this no longer works, from there its just a mass of knitting to unravel until I find the cause. Too damn cold in the shed at present!

Having just boned up on this topic, I am increasingly concerned that I shall be really out of my depth removing the tank and frigging around with the RHS indicator switch to chase out this fault with the Autoswitch, Can anyone offer a more stone age technology answer please?
