Well I've surprised myself and managed to snaffle a couple of tickets to this game which has me excited no end.

What I'm after, if anyone can help, is some suggestions re: travel and accomodation.

I'm looking at anything from somewhere to pitch a tent to someone with a room they might want to hire out for Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th Sept. It's myself and a mate at this stage. I'll make no bones about it, we will be getting home late! ;) We aren't rowdy teens but I would be lying if I said I didn't expect to partake of more than one

I'm hoping to find somewhere reasonably close to the Stadium (i.e. within a £20 taxi) as I'm meeting some mates over from Oz for the game and doubt we will get very far from the pitch afterwards.

Does anyone know if they put late trains or Buses on for games like this as one of the options we have is stay in Bristol but the last train I saw when checking was about Midnight which is a bit early.

Anyway, any suggestions gratefully recieved folks, including recommended boozers! :beerjug:

C'mon you Wallaby Leg-ends!

Thanks for the replies so far folks, much appreciated.

BlueBikerDog: was looking for a way to PM you and saw that you list a ride to Montpellier as a favourite. I'm seriously considering heading to Montpellier for the Oz V Fiji game. Don't think it will be a great spectacle but thought that Montpellier sounds like a good spot. Any impressions of the trip there that you want to pass on and of teh place itself.

Cheers

I'm afraid that it was just the ride to Montpellier that I thought was great. The main reason being the Millau Viaduct and the twisty autoroute further south. I actually stayed in a place called Palavas which is a very french purpose built tourist resort with canals and a sandy beach. The Hotel Amerique where I stayed is also very good as it has a garage for parking. A colleague from work reckons Sete is even nicer but I think its further from Montpellier. If you're on a budget though you could try Etap Hotels I think they had an hotel in a place called Lattes.

I styayed at this place which isn't a million miles away from Montpelier. No convenient transport links however so you would have to ride to the game which isn't so good if you wanted to partake in some "hospitality". Coz its near the ened of the holiday season you may be able to haggle for a better price though.
