Guys looking to purchase crashbars lower and upper for 1200gs

i got a price from Hein Gericke = £128 lower £183 upper bars
before I order I was wondering if anyone came across them being cheaper

I dont like their ordering time of 2 wks

any help to save some cash highly appreciated

I got the lower Motech bars from NN and delivery was quick. Have already found them useful when I dropped the bike in the garage. However the paint finish is not great and mine are showing the start of corrosion in less than a year and not high usage, but still glad to have them.

I planned to get the upper ones too, mainly for the look of them. But has anyone found the upper one useful in a spill? Do they offer real protection or is the protection really done by the lower bars, and the upper ones are just to make our GSs look like GSAs?

If you are interested I've got a pair of hepco and becker engine bars and tank bars which were on my 1200GS but are now redundant as I've now got a GSA. I got them powdercoated black and they were never refitted before I traded the bike so they are effectively unused. The only hiccup is the clamps for the tank bars went missing due to the bolts coming loose. I made up replacements which I then forgot to get powdercoated so they need to be painted

I'd take £100 quid for the set. I'm just about to go on holiday for a week so if you can hang on till next week I can sort out pictures etc.

Oh and I'm in Fife so you could pop by and have a look if you wanted.

I'm waiting for an answer from NN, but does anyone know why (exactly) the SW bars won't fit - according to NN web - if Remus headers are fitted to a standard 2006 GS12?

Got no confidence in the decorative BMW bar that came fitted on the bike.
Remus headers look to be pretty much in the same place as the original headers. There just ain't a balance pipe. I'm puzzled.
