Catching the Plymouth to Santander ferry on the 25th May and traveling down through Spain to catch the ferry from Algercera to Ceuta.
Can some of you kind knowledgeable travelers please recommend accommodation and best route from Santander to Algercera, not too fussed if it's over two days. Also any help and advice for any part of the trip in Spain or Morrocco would be much apreciated.
Just 3 bikes going up to press, a r1200rt and two Blackbirds.
Jacal - if you just want to blast it you can do it in a day.
Santander to Burgos (and if you want a lovely twisty road take the 623), then head for Madrid - straight through the centre of Madrid and on down to where the motorway splits to Jaen on the left and Cordoba on the right. My fav is right and through Cordoba.
From Cordoba you can head for either Malaga and ride on the coast (busy all the time though) or stay inland and follow the road heading for Ronda which then splits off for Algiciras.
I've done all the routes a couple of times and can give you some maps etc if you need more. But half the fun is plotting the route yourself I find!
Just came back from Ronda last week and stopped off in Toledo for a night - which is a VERY historic city and worth the visit. Doing that route you can take quite a few OFF Motorway stretches and really enjoy Spain on the way.
I never book hotels in Spain any more (Toledo being the exception this time cause I wanted to be smack in the town centre), they are easy to find and you get some great experiences just rocking up and asking for a room.
Was worried about Santander this time - but after being turned away from 2 I found a cracking little place just 6kms out of town, a proper hotel and for €32!!!
Leave the Morocco advice to others more experienced than I!
Enjoy.
