Im after some new boots and was either looking at the santiago's or maybe the cheaper Allround boots.

To be honest, theyre not for offroad at all, just for commuting and the occasional tour so Im wondering if the Santaigos maybe a little OTT.

I recently missed a pair of size 45's on sale on here by 30 seconds :blast

Also, can the front steel clip be removed from the Santiagos?

Cheers

Yes the clip can be removed from the front. I had a pair for a bit, found the closure mechanism a pain at times, but they were very comfy and very waterproof.

I've found them to be excellent. Waterproof and comfy as well.

Don't like the metal bits on the front though.

I've bought a pair of Santiago boots after Christmas. They're very good and comfortable to walk in as I found out when I had to push the Ariel a mile and a half.

Water proof and warn as well - they stood up to an afternoon's ride in the wet last week end.

Are they an offroad boot (they look it) or would they be fine on a road bike?

Hein Gericke boots are the same boot made by TCX... but cheaper...have them..and like 'em
