Much Much better than standard.

Just buy one

don't know where else you could buy one but yes for me anyway its a far better seat. I could manage only 1-2 hours on the stock seat before the burn started but I have done 7 with the Sargent. Not saying my rear end was pristine after that but It was ok.

After HID lights, it's the best money spent on a 1200GS!

Easily 400 miles with no sore bum. Nuff said! What price do you put on comfort? I was a litte dubious about spending so much on something that could be subjective but I'm now soooooooooo glad I did.:JB

When I wanted one ISTR that Nippy's were out of stock so I got mine from here, the company/site is run by Calamander who, I believe, are the official importers.

I got a low option for my 1200GSA and it's brilliant, though when you first try it you wonder how it works as it feels very hard and 'un-giving'. But the blurb with it tells you to go on a long trip before judging it which is good advice.

The 1200 standard seat is fine- the Adventure seat is rubbish.

The Sargent seat is far better than both- money well spent.:thumb2

I managed to borrow one before I bought.

You never know, there could be someone in your area who will let you try their seat for a couple of hours.

It's a lot of money to spend if it doesn't suit you.

Occasionally they come up on here for sale...then its a no risk buy. If you are fast enough, buy it, try it and if its not for you sell it on.

Mike

Ps Love mine!

The same could be said for buying new...you'd easily sell it on without too much trouble..or loss.

They do bed in a little from new which takes some getting used to..and the riding position is slightly changed.

But I love mine too!! :thumb2.......once bedded in all thoughts of what you're sitting on disappear. :thumb2

My ten penneth

Purchased one (about the prices which have been quoted on the thread) and INITIALLY to be honest I hated it - hard as a hard thing and very uncomfortable when stationary with feet down .

Did consider selling it as I was that unimpressed :(

I actually swapped it for my OEM lowered on my GS.

But..................

Have swapped it back. Not totally happy YET but I would like to totally agree with the other posts - I am sure that once `bedded in` it will be fine.

So, if my humble opinion helps you choose I would say that it would be a good thing to do and I agree with what everyone has said about them as, indeed, they possibly know better than me anyway!

And - if you are in my neck of the woods you are totally welcome to borrow it and go for a blast before you decide to buy one (just please come back with it!).
