Hi all

Pretty trivial given the news I just read about a bike being stolen. Anyhow a friend in need....

I've been installing the heated seats and have hit a problem. I have everything powered up but it appears to me that within seconds of installing it, the relay may have packed up. Is that possible? I heard it click several times in a period of about 1 - 2 seconds and now it appears that the relay is jammed open. Is that possible?!?! I used the red wire on the small 2 fuse block under the main seat as having done a fair amount of research that seemed the correct place to take the feed for the ignition switching.

Thanks guys.

Have you got a DVM - first check would be putting it across the pins for the coil and seeing if you have voltage on them.

It is possible for a relay to stick - but highly unlikely unless something else is wrong.

Thanks - I think I have managed to pick up the wrong wire. I have put the switch wire into one of the fuses and it all appears to work. I don't understand how current can be feeding the fuses regardless of whether the ignition is on?? If I take the switch off the back of the fuse it works correctly. Am in missing something obvious? TIA

On a 1200 the ignition live does not go off when you turn the key off - there is a delay before it goes off

Thanks. Do you know how long the day is?

OK All is now sorted on the install. Only issue is that having spent all that cash on the seats they hardly warm up at all. Disappointed.

Update. They do warm up but take a while...
