...will my two year old Sargent seat fit the new 2008 GSA?

Does it actually lower the seat height at all?

Thanks for any quick replies, I'm considering changing my '06 1200GS for a brand spanking new preregistered 1200GSA.

Shame I'll lose my panniers but I'd like to keep my seat.

My seat (that fits my '04 GS) fitted ibroker's '08 GSA a couple of weekends ago if that is any help?

No - absolutely not - it will not fit............................I'll give you a fiver for it :augie

Thanks a million, boys.

I will change especially in view of the fact that the Sargent drops the seat height by 25mm. Next I have to sort out a sat nav mount for my Garmin Zumo - time to trawl the threads!

PS DavidJames, sod off, you git - no chance! :D

Fitting a standard Sargent to a GSA will drop the seat height about 25 mm.

Not what is says on the Sargent website.

Are Sargent seats the same height as the OEM seat
Except for the LOW versions of a seat (where applicable) the nominal height of the seat will be about the same as the stock seat. Because of the superior design shape of the seats, you may find the 'shoulder' present under the thighs (on most Sargent seats) does increase the reach to the ground slightly - perhaps up to half an inch on the larger seats

And I did not find it easier to reach the ground either

By the way - did the same move and got a very nice Zumo mount from 'Padge' which was made by a friend of his - works very well, looks good and very good price:thumb

Jonathan is talking about fitting the seat to a GSA rather than a GS, as Sargent make the seat for GS height the effect will be to reduce the height by 25mm.

I put one on a GSA and it made no difference to me reaching the ground. I was touching toes on the Sargent therefore according to your measurements I would have been unable to touch the ground on the std seat - in my case it was the same.
