Sargent Seat.

Hiya all, my Sargent Low seat for my GSA arrived this morning.

I went home at lunchtime to try it on my bike.

Only a 12 mile commute back to work, boy does it feel wierd, its like a different bike!!!

Instructions with seat say to try it for at least an hour.

Best regards Stretch :)

Stretch, stick a piccy up mate :) Love to see the beast with the new seat on it.

Hiya Bro, can't stick a piccy up cos I'm not subscribed. :toungincheek

So, will have to wait until our next meet up. :thumb2

Best regards Stretch :)
PS hows the movie developing, any luck yet.
PSS whats happened to Melly Senior, no posts since our Lakes trip.

I was lucky enough to have someone let me try their seat on my bike last Friday, by Sunday evening (after several large vodkas for courage) I placed my order with NN. Bearing in mind Monday was a bank holiday, I was really impressed when it turned up yesterday.
Only travelled a short distance yesterday but you can feel the difference in your arse. The wife is gonna try the pillion comfort out tonight on a 60 mile round trip. As I've said about the bike in the past, don't try a Sargent unless your prepared to part with the cash.

Sargent update.

I eventually went for the Std Sargent and can confirm that it is definitely lower than the ADV seat, not sure how much but would think about 1/2 an inch.

It feels very hard and I do question how comfy it will be but can appreciate that the weight is spread across your arse rather than your "Barse" so time will tell on that front but I am expecting great things from this seat.

I will update when I have ridden it properly.

Hi, put mine on Wed. did 70 miles.

Went to Criccieth to day (Thurs.) did 287 miles

So far its the most uncomfortable seat I have evet used, very hard.

On my Std GSA Seat eventually the Barse ached, on the Sargent, the whole feckin lot aches, more contact, today, has equalled more pain, as of this moment in time I would say my Std GSA seat was more comfortable for me, however it is early days and time will tell.

Best regards Stretch :)

Forget any other mod - well maybe Les's HIDs and get a Sargent front n back and you wont regret it - you sit more in the bike, easier to get feet flat as they are narrower at the front and the rear has a big storage area built in which takes tools, puncture kit and the end off my U lock with the other bit under the front seat. Besy thing a bought and £14k miles in a yeaqr and not one bit of arse ache - I sold the GS and got The money I paid for the seats back on ebay as I got them withhout VAT as I dont live in the UK

I fitted a Sargant seat before the brit butt rally, the first couple of hundred miles where no better than on the GSA seat, after 1250 miles in 36 hours the seat is now uber comfy. Stick with it, it takes a few miles to bed in.

Thanks Belizibub, I'm counting on it!!

Fitted my standard height second hand sargent yesterday.
I did around 80mls.First impression was that the seat was very firm and had little support in the thigh area.I was wearing a pair of Kevlar jeans and the seams on the rear pockets were very uncomfortable after around 40mls.
I've only got short legs but they felt much more bunched up than with the standard seat, one advantage was I could get much more of my feet on the ground at a standstill.
With the standard seats both myself and Joanne had,had enough after around 200mls in a day.
As I have not been able to source a pillion seat yet I have managed to borrow one from a friend until Tuesday.
We are planning to spend most of this w/e out on the bike which should give us a better idea as to whether or not the seats are suited to us,and whether it's worth purchasing a new Sargent pillion seat for Jo.
As for me after only 80 mls the jury is still out.

Well we set off yesterday,me on my new to me Sargent seat Joanne on a Sargent pillion seat borrowed from a friend.
We did around 230mls on varying roads with a 30min stop for lunch.
When we arrived home I did feel that the rider seat was a vast improvement over the original item although not as good as I had hoped.
Will I keep it... Yes.
It was a different story for Joanne, all day I could feel her shifting and fidgeting about, usually you never know she's there.
Jo does not like the stock seat, but she felt the Sargent was no more comfortable plus it's shape made her feel as though she were being tipped back all the time.I'll just add at this point that Jo is not a whinger.
As a consequence she also had backache when we got home.
Will we be buying a Sargent pillion seat ......No.
What I am going to do is purchase a Sargent pillion cover and have a go at createing a seat that will suit Jo with the help of this excellent site.

I'll let you know how I get on.
