Sargent seat

Will a Sargent seat ( riders seat,not pillion) taken from my old R1200 GSA 2012 fit a 2016 water cooled GSA?
If not, why not?

It won't fit because they are different. Have had both.

Aint gonna fit, the water cooled gsa is a ground up re-design. the subframe and tank are both different shapes.
