Sargent Seat!!

I did notice on a 400 mile round trip to Pompy that the seat was more comfortable than normal..... The reason. When you load panniers, top box and wife onto the bike the suspension sits lower and the seat levels out.... All you have to do is feed up the wife and take her (and her luggage) with you on long trips. Problem solved. :)

I suspect tyre wear will suffer some what on the rear.

I think I'd be more comfortable sitting on the battery! :P

Yes, the high seat is much flatter. It no longer gives me ball ache (unfeasibly large danglies :D ) and is sooooooooo much better (for me). :thumb

Improves the lines of the bike no end, imho, far better lookin

... The stock seat is no throne, but I handle an un-interrupted full to empty tank runs on it without too much discomfort

... The choice of strides seems to make a bigger difference ... plain leather jeans require constant adjustment ferklings :eek or the ol' spuds take a pounding  . My race type strides, with a mesh liner, provide better support and keep the twig and berries safely out of the crush zone :mmmm

... Try changing your underwear before changing your seat?

Found the stock seat after broken in was pretty good. However, being a budding gadget guy I went for the Sargeant and am liking it much better. The new GS seat is just right. All black with M stripes. Tasty. :beerjug:

Update!

Collected my high seat today and can confirm it is much flatter and when fitted with the front high, back low scenario its near perfect for me!

As its flatter I seem to have more room.

I thought it was hard initially but haven't suffered at all with my arse infact I didn't even think about my arse at all! :ymca

All I need now is a standard pillion seat in black, anyone got one they want to sell? :thumb

Hi all,

well,I guess German bottoms are made of wood or steel,as I dont understand how the test rider could deal with such freaking seat, and not report to the factory  Every person I met whith a GS 12 says the same : the standar seat is a shame....they push you forward, So I had to do something to save my balls, and I went for the High version OEM seat. That was much better, but did not solved completly the prob, finally I bought A Sargent.Got it yesterday, from NN,(great man,I got exactly what I ordered) And I must say ,this time, it 's a significant improvement. The build quality is TOP,could be Swiss :P , looks good on the bike, and the confort is OK.Still not as much confortable as the bikes I owned before, but the best seat aviable today,in my opinion. I was wondering if the problem does not come from the bike itself,as the riding position is verry straight, whith the bar high, and the knees banded? I dont know, but it is surprising that BMW says that the GS 12 was ergonomically designed.... :nenau

A+ Pogo
