I recently bought a Sargent seat the low rider model which cost over £400.00
and this seat has a raised part at the back, After around 500 miles in total the seat still feels uncomfortable as the padding feels hard on the bum and the raised bit restricts you moving around the seat as well as not allowing you to move any further back, I was wondering if anybody who has had these seats any advice as to how long it takes to wear these in and if the BMW low rider seat is any better

Had a normal Sargent seat, they're normally comfortable from the first mile but can take a while to settle in. The padding is firm and thats the point of it, soft padding is the cause of arse ache.

How many miles do you do at a time, I used to do about 500 miles before my arse would ache

Mine is only just getting great after nigh on 1000 miles. Each ride is better by increments

Might be a rude question but how heavy are you. The low seats obviously have less padding than the standard height ones and if you are, shall we say, fond of pies, that may be the problem.

I dropped the suspension on my 1150 adv by 1/2" and used a standard Sargent seat and it is superb which could well be down to the extra padding over the low version.

Mine took a couple of thousand miles. Softening the suspension a tad helped too :)

I brought a corbin for my 1150 after the long distance pain of thr bmw offering. This took a couple of thousnd miles to "bed in"(pie consumption low),
but now itis fine but wouldent buy another over priced and a very poor fit.

My sargent has just reached a state of absolute ripe perfection after 1500 miles. All day comfortable.
