Took delivery of my nice new, exceedingly well made seat yesterday - fitted on the bike just like the standard one and boy does it feel different.

Will post thoughts/experiences/piccies after the weekends >1 hour riding without getting off to get a feel for whether my :peach: goes numb as per the last crappy item (I can't believe we spend this much on a bike and then have to replace the seat! :blast).....

Looking forward to your thoughts on your new Sargent seat.Thinking of buying the low version so feet are a tad closer too the tarmac! Have got the low bmw seat on my 08GS but sometimes feel at low speed, parking, stopping etc could be a bit closer to terra-firma! Is the new seat any wider?:nenau

Put a low Sargent seat on my 07 GS, its wider than stock seat and 100% more comfortable, just rode nearly 3000 miles round Spain, some very long days, no problems.

Yes.. the sargent is 1" lower as standard. regardless of what position its installed on the bike.

best investment I made. 100 mile daily commute keeps my old "Farmer Giles" happy.:rob Every time I get a loan bike whilst my bike is being serviced it amazes me at the difference a Sargent seat makes when I get my bike back.:bow

Got mine from Nippy Normans.

Can't see how BMW got it so wrong:eek: Shouldn't have to spend £600 on a decent seat for a bike to "travel the world" on:nenau

:mcgunBMW seat

Having experienced the pleasure of a Sargent for a few months now, the question that springs to mind, and this is meant in all seriousness, is how on earth can BMW fit as standard something that is so appalling on what is supposedly a long distance bike? Without in any way denigrating the Sargent, which is a wonderful piece of kit, we're not talking rocket science here.

I suppose the same applies for the lights, but that’s another issue.
